Race Information

* About the race:

The Defenders Dash Mud Run is sponsored by the Riverside Sheriffs’ Association and Riverside County Sheriff's Department and benefits the Arthritis Foundation Inland Empire, Special Olympics Southern California- Inland Empire Region, and Dominic Durden Memorial Scholarship via Riverside Community College District. The course is just over a 5k; about 3.29 miles and is held at the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center located at 16791 Davis Avenue, Riverside, CA 92518. The obstacles include walls, hill climbs, cargo nets, slides, mud pits, and more!!! The race will happen rain or shine!  The race is chip timed by One Time Racing LLC.

***All teams of 10 or more runners will receive a $5 d

NOTE: The minimum age limit for the regular mud run is 10, but a parent/guardian must be on the course with the child at all times.

ALL participants must sign a waiver!! Parents will need to sign a waiver on behalf of their children. We will have a separate registration table for the Kid's Mud Run the day of the event. 


Registration starts at 7:00am. The actual race starts at 8:00am. There will be three waves spaced 30 minutes apart. The final wave time will be at 9:00am. Plan to arrive at least one hour before your planned start time and be in the starting area ½ hour before your start time. Traffic will be heavy that day so please feel free to arrive early to check in, walk around, stretch and check out the course.

The Kid’s run will start at 9:45am. Parents may run the .25 mile course with their children, but we will have safety officers to assist the children through the obstacles.  

The awards ceremony starts at 10:00am. The awards will be handed out as follows: Top 3 Males; Top 3 Females; Top 3 Teams. Team times will be calculated using the top 5 runners.

Parking is free, but please carpool to help save fuel and space in our lots! Parking volunteers will direct you when you enter the facility. Please follow their directions and keep the flow of traffic moving. This is a very large event with a lot of vehicles entering and exiting the event site. Entry to the event is free. Feel free to walk around and cheer the runners on!
